Picked up one after hearing about it so many times on Ryan Hall's broadcasts. I love the data that I get out of it each day. It took a good week to finally get rain at the house to verify the rain and lightning scales worked properly, but it was fun actually watching the graph to show how the lightning was getting closer to the station as the storm approached.

I can already tell I am going to really like going back and looking at the historical data over time.

Great product. Easy install. Works great.

First off, I did not understand that it did not come with a display that you can glance at as you walk through the room, so if you want to know anything, you have to get your phone, which is a pain.
Second, the rain guage is WAY off. We just had a big rain, with my regular rain guage showing 2.44", and the Tempest only recording 1.78", and calibrating it appears to be a real pain, so I may just have to keep the old fashioned tube rain guage around.
I spent the extra money on a Tempest because there are no moving parts like the Accurights I have owned in the past, where spiders like to put webs in the rain catcher, but it does not seem to be worth the extra money.

Tested the system for two weeks with easy setup, good product quality and average rain accuracy (compared to an analog rain gauge).
Decided to return the system for my backyard location doesn’t allow full utilization of the system capabilities. Also, several weather APPS provide similar information.

My original tempest was not updating...so I ordered a new one at a deep discount. It arrived within a few days but which that time the old one was working just fine. I will keep the new one as a back up.
